Above is a segment that I was recently featured in on West Coast Style with the lovely Mana Mansour on Shaw TV channel 4 in Vancouver. This segment is Part 2 of a GQ makeover (Watch Part 1 HERE) that I gave on a our very handsome volunteer, James—who was such a good sport that was willing to try on anything I threw on him.
I give pointers and style tips in this menswear clip and hopefully it will help all you gentlemen out there when putting an outfit together and when you go shopping. Just remember, that it's not about the label thats sewn inside your clothes, it's about the fit.
On another note, I want to give a million thanks to Mana, the host of West Coast Style. Thank you for giving me this opportunity and for being so supportive, encouraging and especially patient with me when I would [many times] blank out in front of camera during filming—You're a sweetheart and one of the most genuine people I know.
This was one of my very first time filming on camera and Lord knows, maybe after [A LOT] more practice, maybe I'll be on some show one day. . .*ahem* yea. . .probably on the D-List or Celebrity Rehab.
Anyways, thank you for watching!

Aside from being a fashion snob with a conceited loud mouth blog in Vancouver, I aspire to be a socialite or more so. . . a local misfit. Earlier in the month, I polished my penny loafers and put on my conservative pants and attended Derek Blasberg's "Very Classy" book launch at the ultra beautiful space at The Bay Downtown Vancouver, The Room.
Despite sporting a smart pair of reading glasses and a crisp white collared shirt underneath a collegiate Gucci sweater, who was I to fool the super suave Mister Blasberg, who graciously signed my book with more X's than my miserably failed math exam in high school. Clearly, I'M THAT TRAMP he refers to in his book. But hey, if the shoe fits?—WERK IT.
With a wonderfully organized event with stunning people at every corner of The Room, it was definitely a fashion night in the city with worthy mention.
Beautiful photographs all taken by the gorgeous and incredibly talented Georgia Esporlas Photography.

In much news of the attention craving Starving Stylist, I was featured in this month's issue of Vancouver View Magazine! It may not have been a centrefold of the magazine and even though I had to share the limelight with

Along with the lovelies, Lily & Nancy, I attended the private event in celebration for the new store opening of Michael Kors in Pacific Centre.
I mixed, mingled, 'camera whored' and drank more champagne than I should have, especially on an empty stomach—thank Lord for those delectable grilled cheese sandwiches stuffed with caramelized onions sustaining my appetite though. Damn. They were good.
Bright coloured handbags filled brightly light walls that were stunningly eye-catching but my attention was more focused on the collection of beautiful watches in the pristine display cases—I swear, if I was given another glass of wine, I would have purchased one. It has happened to me before in David Yurman, so its bound to happen again.
Anyways, I had a wonderful time indeed but more so for the fact that I spent it with my two girlfriends. xx

We've been through more debaucheries than a normal sane person can have in a thousand lifetimes. Thanks for putting up with my constant mood swings, my ultra needy moments and for holding my clutch when I had to fight someone at the club.

Who would have ever thought that parading around in fancy duds and snapping narcissistic pictures of yourself in awkward poses would get yourself a party thrown in your honor? Now if only could score an all inclusive paid trip to Paris or a designer handbag that was named in my honor, I know I’ve made it.

Oh Lordy Damn. That’s a whoooooooooole LOT of fierce in one spot. But I’m sure a taste of Terracotta’s delectably delicious short rib sliders will help tame the room or. . .well at least keep my mouth delightfully stuffed from being snarky with others.
RSVP Please.
I’ll play 'nice', I promise.

The city is lacking warm sunny weather at the moment but that sure did not stop me from bearing some legs to Style Republic Magazine's more than glamorous, Summer Soiree. The bash, held at Glowbal Collection’s plush spot, Society, was a perfect celebration in honor of the much anticipated movie release of Sex & the City 2.
I stuffed my face like a starving malnourished child from Malawi with just about every decadent treat that was presented in my face. Sipped on delicious bright fuchsia colored cocktails that could make any red-neck man stray away from. And mingled through the city’s most beautiful trendy crowd all while classic episodes of Sex & the City played on huge flat screens.
The soiree was nothing short of fabulous and with the release of Sex & the City 2, this summer is already starting to look quite swank.

4 days with 4 friends in 1 sinful city that just never sleeps.
Flirting with flight attendants for free cocktails on the plane, pillow fights at 5am in the morning with hundred dollar silk pillows, poppin' champagne at 11am at David Yurman, fierce walk-offs in broad daylight on the Vegas strip to even partying VIP with a Real Housewife of Orange County, there was absolutely not a single dull moment I had in Vegas.
But my absolute fondest memory of this trip was being able to touch and hold 1 of the 45 jaw dropping shoes that was literally straight off the runway of the late Alexander McQueen’s Spring 2010 RTW collection. I batted my lashes and pulled my shirt lower in order to had them take the masterpiece out and show it to us but unfortunately I wasn’t allowed to take a photo of it (I guess I wasn’t showing enough meavage). When asked how much these shoes costs, my throat swelled up and my eyes bulged in shock. Holyyyy Lord! Let’s just say that these bad boys would cost about 4 months rent in a nice place in Yaletown Vancouver!
The experience I had while I was away for just the weekend was incredible and definitely unforgettable. But too bad I’ll have to live off plain rice and soy sauce for the next handful of months to pay off all my Vegas purchases.

If you have yet to be a follower of mine on Twitter, your probably the last to know that I was fortunate enough to meet, have a cocktail and chat with Dean & Dan from Milan designer label, Dsquared, over the past weekend at a popular local lounge in Vancouver. The dashing and utterly funny design duo is currently in town to celebrate their limited edition fleece-hoodies that are perfect complements for the Winter Olympics, which so happens to kick off this weekend in Vancouver. Click here for more info.
Being a huge fan and devoted fashion die-hard I may be, I sadly didn’t have any photographs taken with the fabulous twins, so don’t even bother asking for them. Besides, I was too busy admiring Dean’s luxurious fur lined, lamb skin leather coat with a beautifully constructed built up collar to even remember. . .or was I too enthralled by my glass of Belvedere? Hmmmm. . .
So, anyone else have stories of their own fashion designer/celebrity encounter?

No words could possibly describe how much I love this disco-stick-humping bitch. I swear to lord that every single possible homo out there in this world and their fag-hags love Lady Gaga. From her incredible works of music and performing to her amazingly ridiculous fashions down to her ability to act as a public figure, she is the definition of what we call undoubted talent. So if I were to die, reincarnate and inherit their closet, lord bloody hell damn it better be this bitch.
Anyways, I’ll be busting out my poker face in about 24 hours for Gaga’s final concert in Vancouver on Friday night. I’m so EXCITED that I’m just a twitch away from wetting myself. I have absolutely NO idea what I will be sporting to the concert but I have an urge to rip my 4-year-old niece’s Hello Kitty plush toy’s head off and duck taping it to my forehead. . . Walk, walk fashion baby, work it, move that bitch crazy! . . . totally Lady Gaga Couture no?
So any suggestions what I should wear then?

Taking place at the lavish Westin Bayshore in Vancouver, 49 graduating students showcased three designs each with models
The fashion show, even though it was quite lengthy, flowed superbly smooth and was very well executed. As for the clothing collections, many of them were extremely impressive and if given the right opportunity, could possibly rival actual well-established design houses because it was so great. But as for unfortunate others whose collections had me rolling my eyes back till I went blind, I hope fashion school was just a hobby and that mommy and daddy paid for schooling because it would be a huge waste of money if the only thing you learned how to do was to throw some tulle on a curtain and call it a dress!
As the fashion show came to an end and with a BIG sigh of relief that I could finally get up and go to the washroom, somewhere in my cold-blooded soul smiled and was glad that I attended tonight’s grad show. Seeing so many familiar faces, welcoming smiles and adoring instructors that once taught me, made me realize how much I miss schooling at Blanche Macdonald and how incredible the learning experience was. A grad fashion to others it may be, but it was like a homecoming event for me.

p.s. Do you love me? . . .Then start

A clothing line founded in 1994 in Hangzhou China, JNBY takes clothing beyond its basic function by allowing it’s wearers to think outside the box in discovering other ways to wear one single garment. A shirt turned into a skirt, scarf, and a shawl or a jacket that can be worn inside out or even upside down, JNBY has given its consumers the opportunity to be their own creative designer.
I have always been intrigued by the unique designs of JNBY, so with a recent invitation to its private fashion show of their Holiday 2009 collection, I was swift to RSVP and of course being a ‘STARVING’ individual that I am, how could I possibly deny free champagne, food and of course fabulous fashions?
The fashion show, hosted at their new and chic store location on West 4th in Kitsilano was a delight and intimate gathering of loyal clients, local fashionistas and artistically savvy individuals. Models sashayed intensely one by one down the runway, with the exception of one who soaked up some extra unneeded limelight by awkwardly grazing it but luckily, that did not take away the splendour and absolute edginess of the garments.
The clothing designs were fresh and innovative. The natural fabrics used were luxe and the leathers, completely lavish. I also liked the major intricate detailing that was presented and the wide use of different textures gave a lot of definition to the garments.
I enjoyed my time at the show, catching up with many familiar faces and getting to know new ones. I nearly went retardly-blind a handful of times though and bumped into a mannequin or two, due to the extreme track lighting set-up for the runway, but nonetheless I left the show with the admiration of a brand who understands that fashion is about “Showing personality through natural creativity” and by telling people to “Just Naturally Be Yourself”.
Check out any three of the JNBY locations in Vancouver @ Metrotown Centre, South Granville and West 4th Kitsilano.

Being the local dwelling socialite that I am (or at least pose to be), I attended the grand opening of Glowbal Group’s newest addition to the restaurant collection in Vancouver, SOCIETY.
Of course being the FAT free-loader that I am, I stuffed my face with just about everything that was served in front of me and drank enough cocktails to fill a bath tub, while of course being cautious of lurking paparazzi’s out to snap a photo of me eating. Wouldn’t that be a great headliner: “STARVING STYLIST DOESN'T LOOK SO STARVING ANYMORE!” I couldn’t help myself because the food was delectable and it completely satisfied my “need for comfort” appetite.
The restaurant’s decorum was quite lush and its boudoir atmosphere made the environment ultimately alluring and sexy, but unfortunately I couldn’t say the same thing about its serving team’s attire which seemed more fitting for a beer garden or a rodeo bar rather than a place this chic. The plain white tee or tank with blue jeans was just too casual and a complete turn off for me.
But regardless, the food and drinks were delightful and it was great seeing familiar faces and making friends with new ones. So, SOCIETY is definitely a place to check out if you want to have your comfort food and still look fabulous while do so!

As good or even possibly bad as I may look, I was perspiring enough sweat in this outfit to fill a kiddie pool to play in! I attended the Oakridge Centre Fall Fashion Affair to fulfill my duties as the mall’s style ambassador and since Vancouver’s weather is so unpredictably RIDICULOUS, I was UNCOMFORTABLY warm the whole entire time at the fashion show. All I wanted to be in was cut-off denim shorts and a racer tank top, but how good of a representative would I be if I showed up dressed like that? Agurh. So I bit my tongue, patted off my sweat and chanted quietly to myself, “style over comfort, style over comfort, STYLE OVER COMFORT!” . . .Lord dammit! The things I do sometimes as a slave for fashion, no wonder so many people think I’m insane!

Dazzling fellow blogger & good friend, Niki B of ‘A Haute Mess’ and I were graciously invited to the Style Republic Magazine Summer Soiree. The chic event was organized by the gorgeous PR extraordinaire Lyndi J. Barrett and the ooooohhhhh sooooo cute but definitely a force to be reckoned with and the editor-in-chief of StyleRepublicMagazine.com, Brittany Law.
It was great catching up and mingling with all the FABULOUS fashionistas/misters in the city and also meeting lovely new faces! Being on my 'best' behavior and keeping my wagging tongue in my mouth, all I have to say is without a doubt, it was one hell of a hot looking crowd of people at that event! At one point I had to refrain myself from sampling anymore of the delectable tapas catered by the Glowbal Collection’s Sanafir Restaurant because I basically was afraid of looking like a fat ass in a room full of rail thin model-esque beauties! A STARVING stylist much? Regardless of my minor intimidation and self induced anorexia, I had wonderful time.
Thanks again Brittany & Lyndi! xoxo
